After an accident with a self-propelled UBER car had fatal consequences for the first time in spring 2018, there has been a lot of discussion about the functional safety of autonomous vehicles as well as the permissibility of the current regulations. In particular, the focus was on liability and its insurability. We would therefore like to discuss the necessary adaptations in the legal system as well as the associated (data) security and data protection in accordance to the EU-DSGVO, which recently entered into force and point out sensible approaches.
Dr. Stefan Eder, Partner at Benn-Ibler Rechtsanwälte, will address the legal issues in his keynote speech and will shed light on the areas of technology, insurance and data protection in a panel discussion with experts from business and science.
